You can have a vanity number or a large amount of Facebook Likes that makes you look “Big” and “Popular”. If this is your goal, then go ahead. If you want to make your Facebook Page a business asset, stop right now. This article will explain how buying likes works and why I don’t recommend it. It will then show you three amazing strategies to get real Likes for your business and maximize the ROI of your Facebook page.
Let me explain…
How can you buy Facebook likes?
Many websites offer Facebook Likes for sale. You can search Google for “Buy Facebook Likes”, and you will find many options. Before I wrote this article, I researched the best websites to buy Facebook Likes. These sites charge a fee to add Likes on your Facebook Page. Although I don’t know where or how these Likes came from, I am skeptical.
Where did “Bought Facebook Likes” come from? These users are:
Boost Likes is the most legitimate site I found. They insist on being “Real”, but I don’t know what that means. Is this the Facebook account that is “Real”? It doesn’t matter if they are real people. There is no way to select those who will be interested in your industry or business. It’s all a random mix. It’s not clear where they live or what language they speak. It is unlikely that any accounts “real” that Like your Facebook Page will show any interest in purchasing from you in the near future.
Are you still unsure if buying Facebook Likes is a good idea?
- Three Reasons You Should Not Buy Facebook Likes
- Low Engagement = Low Edgerank
- You alienate your real likes
- You won’t be able to sell likes purchased from other people
- Low engagement = Low EdgeRank
If they don’t engage with you, 10,000 Likes won’t make a difference. Most of the people who are bought fans don’t interact with you because they’re not real people. They don’t care at all about what you have to share, even if they are real people.
Facebook’s EdgeRank algorithm determines which posts appear in users’ News Feeds. While it’s not easy to get your posts in the News Feeds for your Facebook Fans, if you’re Page receives little to no engagement (especially if you have a lot of Likes), EdgeRank will drop. No one will be able see your posts, even your real Likes.
Here are the four factors that influence your Page’s Edgerank.
If a Fan has interacted with your posts in the past: If they like every post from your Page, Facebook will show them more of your Page. Reactions of other people to a particular post: If everyone who has seen a post on Facebook ignores it or complains about it, it’s less likely that they will show it to anyone else.
You can improve your Fans’ interactions with similar posts in the past. If your Fans like photos often, it’s more likely that they will see a photo from your Page.
Your Fans may not see a post if it has been complained about by others who have seen it or if your Page has received many complaints in the past. A famous site to purchase Social Media services at cheap prices is BuyFollowersMalaysia.
You Can Alienate Your Real Fans
Let’s suppose that the impossible happens, and these purchased Likes engage with your Facebook page. This will improve your Edgerank but it won’t help you with the Likes that really matter to your business. This will create a red herring on your Facebook Insights. While you will see lots of engagement, it won’t come from people who are truly interested in your business.
Where will it all lead?
You will lose all your efforts if you post things that fake fans like but not your real fans. You may discover that funny cat photos are getting the best engagement after a lot of testing.
If you are selling, for instance, exercise equipment, then you will not be posting anything that is relevant to your Fans, who may buy from you. These real Likes will lose interest in your Page, and they won’t see any of your posts on their News Feed.
Customers Who Have Purchased Likes Will Not Be Your Customers
Like any other marketing channel, Facebook Pages are designed to increase sales. It’s futile to engage with people on Facebook that have no interest in your products or services.
You may be able engage them with specific posts, such as pictures of cats. However, your chances of them engaging with posts within your industry niche and converting you are zero.
Alternatives to buying Facebook likes
Now that we have a better understanding of the reasons not to buy Likes on Facebook, how can we increase Facebook Likes. These are the best methods we have found to accomplish this task, and they are FAST:
- Contests on Facebook that you like
- Your Website can feature Coupons that are Like-Gated
- Facebook Ads
- Like-Gated Contests on Facebook
Facebook contests are a great way to get new Likes and engage users. Your target customers will be enticed to Like your Page and become your Fan by the promise of a large prize (one that is relevant to their target market).
How does a Facebook contest get users to like my page?
You can “like-gate” a Facebook contest that is located in a Tab of your Page. A person must Like your Page in order to access your contest. It works this way: A person who hasn’t Liked your Page will be shown a similar-gate image rather than the contest when they visit the contest Tab on the Page. You will see text on the image that tells them to click the Like button to access the contest. The contest Tab will refresh once they like your Facebook Page.
Do You Need to Buy Likes on Facebook?
You will need to write some code, but a Facebook Contest app similar to Wishpond’s does this in the back-end. All you have to do to set up a similar-gate is to check a box.
Like-Gated Coupons
Coupons are the fastest and most effective way to gain new Likes after contests. Recent research has shown that 57% social media users follow a brand to get access to contests and other freebies. A coupon for 25% off your store is enough.
A Facebook Coupon app such as Wishpond’s allows you to easily create a tab on your Facebook Page for people to download coupons. Just like the Facebook Contest App, you can also like-gate your coupon in a single click.
A coupon that is similar to yours can be promoted best by being featured on your website. A free coupon is a great way to get people to visit your site. They are already interested in your business so they make great people to Like your Page and interact with.
Facebook Ads
Why would you want to pay for advertising on Facebook? It’s very effective. Facebook’s targeting options allow you to target specific audiences of people who are interested in your products.
Facebook also offers a budgeting option called Cost-Per–Like that is specifically designed for the goal to generate Facebook likes.
